UK Weather Forecast: What to Expect Over the Next Few Days

Further heavy downpours likely across southern parts with the north and west seeing the better weather overall. Some mist and murk lingering in the east. Thundery downpours head north through Sunday!!!

Friday: Heavy downpours for the far south, drier & brighter elsewhere.

A wet start is likely across the far south of England with many southern counties at risk of heavy downpours, some perhaps thundery in places. Elsewhere it’s a drier and brighter start although some mist and murk may linger in eastern Scotland and north-eastern England. The winds remain quite blustery in places too.

Through the afternoon the drier and brighter weather with ample sunshine remains for much of the UK but as before, southern counties of England will remain at risk of heavy downpours, this risk perhaps just nudging into the south Midlands and southern Wales later in the day. Temperatures will be warmer for many, with 20c to 26c.

Saturday: Best in the west, further rain for the south and murk for some in the east!!

A great start again for many western parts of the UK and much of Scotland and Northern Ireland as well. Here expect dry and sunny conditions throughout the day. Cloud and murk will hamper eastern parts of the UK for a time before receding back to coastal locations as the day progresses.

The south won’t be devoid of sunny spells but the risk remains here for heavy downpours, much like recent days. The risk of heavier rain will most likely come later in the day and certainly overnight but a few showers in the day can’t be ruled, especially across southern most counties. Temperatures across the UK will range between 17c to 24c with maximums of around 25c.

Sunday: Thundery downpours heading north!!!

Overnight thundery downpours in the south will continue to head north through Sunday as the low responsible pivots across the southern half of the UK. So for much of England and Wales there will be rain at some point. Where the rain clears the south, it will turn brighter here but further heavy hit and miss showers will be possible.

Across Scotland and Northern Ireland you will avoid the worst of the rain but cloud maybe a thorn through the day, scuppering any longer period of sunshine, so all in all expected a mix of the two, however the cloud will be thick enough at times for some localised patchy rain or drizzle. Despite the cloud and rain temperatures will remain warm and humid with values broadly between 16c to 22c.
